happy birthday.

to my college roommate, heidi.

we lost touch after college. but walking down the hallway one day in church, i realized that the person i was looking at was her. too many years later to mention, but it was her.

i've so enjoyed reconnecting. she was from a small town and i from the so-called big city when i met her. we went potluck on roommates. and i always felt like i lucked out. and learned and laughed a lot with her. we had a lot of fun that first year in college.

she's gone on to do lots of cool things, live in fun places, work for interesting people and have a family and she is still the happy, energetic and optimistic person she was when i first met her way back in that dorm room on a blistering hot august afternoon. i've well. i've hmmmm....

but anyways. happy. birthday. heidi. and a picture to come. if i can dig one out....
